Early Life
Her parents were of mixed Indian and Afro-Trinidadian ancestry and she lived in Saint James with her grandmother until age five, because her parents were looking for a place to live in the Queens borough of New York City at the time. Her mother would occasionally visit, and one day, when Minaj was five, her mother picked her up to move to Queens. According to Minaj, her father drank heavily, took drugs, and once tried to kill her mother by setting the house on fire and because of this is started rapping to get the the stress she had in the family. Then in 2007 she began her music career and realesed her first mixtape 'Playtime is Over' and followed by 'Sucka Free' and 'Beam Me Up Scotty' which were realesed 2008 and 2009. She had her first lable succsess after America rapper, Lil Wayne discoverd and then signed record lable with her wit Young Money Entertainment. In 2010 she realesed her first album called 'Pink Friday' which became a big succsess and got to top of U.S Billboard 200 and later became Plantinum.
Nicki is known for having her own alter egos in her album. She has a Harajuku Barbie, Roman Zolanski and his mother Martha she appeard in video for 'Moment 4 Life' ft Drake which also is Nicki's godmother.
